What to do in Capilla del Monte when it rains

Rain rules out the mountain, the reservoirs and the river spots — which is most of what brings people here. But downtown has three indoor places within a kilometre of each other, so you can fill a day on foot without getting too wet.

The stops

  1. 1

    La Techada

Downtown 30 minutes to 1 hour to walk through it and visit the shops

A covered pedestrian street, so you can walk all of it without an umbrella. It is the town’s shopping strip: coffee and errands sorted here.

  2. 2

    El Castillo del Cómic

500 m from downtown 1 to 2 hours (the guided tour lasts between 40 and 50 minutes)

A museum inside a 1905 house, fully indoors and with a guided tour. The best bet for a full rainy afternoon.

  3. 3

    Centro de Informes OVNI

    200 m from downtown 45 minutes to 1 hour

An indoor exhibition space right downtown, two blocks from the covered street. It is short, so it pairs well with the museum.

If the rain eases off, the rest of the town walks are all under a kilometre away. And check the mountain status before heading up: entry usually closes in the rain.

Distances are calculated from each place’s coordinates and durations come from its own page, so they stay up to date on their own.
